Full backup is a backup of all the data, this is the initial backup.
Incremental backup backs up data that has been modified since the last incremental backup.
Differential backup backs up data that has been modified since the last full backup. (Differential is not in the CS syllabus, but is in AIT)
Online backup uses a full, then incremental backup to save on bandwidth and is faster.
