ICT Code of Conduct

An ICT (Information, Communication and Technology) Code of Conduct is an agreement between a business and its employees. It outlines the expectations of how employees behave and interact with customers, businesses, and other employees through the use of technology.

Activities that may be included within ICT codes of conduct are email etiquette, use of the network (including internet), hardware and software for business use only, ensuring data is secured, correct protection of passwords, and many others. While the code of conduct may outline expectations to ensure data security, ultimately that is governed by Australian privacy laws.

A code of conduct is not legally binding, but repeated or serious violations can result in termination of employment.
